It is very important that students visit a variety of college campuses in order to determine which type of higher education institution best fits them. Choosing a college without exploring all available options could be a costly mistake. The College Recruiting Tours Program was created to support student-athletes’decision making skills during the college selection process. The College Recruiting Tours Program will:

Each year talented high school football players are offered scholarships. These student athletes have worked extremely hard in order to be noticed by great college football programs.
There are 117 Division I-A (now called the Football Bowl Championship Subdivision or FBC), 124 Division I-AA (now called the Football Championship Subdivision or FCS), and 150 division 2 colleges that offer football scholarships.
That's a total of 23,157 football scholarships available in the NCAA. To be noticed by these programs student must maximize every opportunity to showcase their talents in the classroom and on the playing field. NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS, formerly Division I-A)

Twenty high school football players from Westlake High School and Collins Hill High School participated in the first tour. This tour exposed the students to six colleges in three days. During that time they were able to meet with admission counselor, have a campus tour, meet with coaching staff, and participate in selective college football camps. In addition, the students actively participated in our Life Skills Enhancement Program. A total of sixteen football scholarships were offered to several students on this tour.
Cross Country and Track are considered one sport by many colleges so coaches tend to give out more distance scholarships than field and sprints. A typical mix might be 8 distance and 4 field and sprints. Therefore, college track and field coaches look for athletes who run summer track (USATF or AAU) and for those that attend track and field camps. There are 271 Division I and 148 Division II colleges that offer track and field scholarships for men. There are a total of 5,303.7 scholarships in the NCAA. For women the total number in the NCAA is 8,510. There are 252 Division I and 101 Division II colleges that offer indoor track and field scholarships for men. For women there are 290 Division I and 108 division II colleges that offer indoor track and field scholarships. The NCAA allows each Division I college track program 12.69 scholarships for men and 18 for women. In Division II the ratio is 12.6 for men and 12.6 for women. It is important that high school volleyball players play club volleyball. The high school season coincides with the college season so most coaches and scouts actually recruit during the club season. A lot of college coaches recruit players at Junior Olympic tournaments, national qualifiers and regional tournaments. Women's volleyball is classified as full ride scholarship sport. There are 12 full ride scholarship are awarded by each college in Division I and 8 in Division II. Thus, there are 7500 volleyball scholarships that are available for girls. The NCAA allows each Division 1 Volleyball program 4.5 scholarships for Men and 12 for women. In Division II the ratio is 4.5 for men and 8 for women.
